Then Mrs. Peterson introduced the Sawyer staff and new students. The school reviewed the behavior expectations and the students’ incentives for following ROARS (We are Respectful of others, Orderly at all times, have a positive Attitude and we are Successful when we ROAR!).
The fifth grade classes were recognized for being the most orderly and respectful during the first week of school and received an ice cream party after the assembly.
Mrs. Miilu’s class was the first class to return all their student forms and received ROARS pencils and a small prize from the ROARS awards.
Lastly, one student from each class was called up to the front of the cafeteria. Students engaged in a Staff Trivia Game and received a ROARS band for participating in the game.
Overall it was fun to get the entire school together and have a positive start to the new school year!
